Series The Wondrous Cross

Isaac Watts’ classic hymn calls us to “survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died.” It is there that we discover the cross as the ultimate demonstration of God’s love to us. In a sense, Isaiah 53 is a survey of the cross from ground level—seen through the eyes of observers watching the horrific spectacle, but understood from the heart of the God whose love for us compelled Him give His Son for our rescue. This week, as we consider Isaiah’s profound prophecy of the cross, we survey Christ’s sacrificial act and the Father’s redeeming love.
