Series The Call to Believe

In John 20:30-31, John tells us that his purpose in writing down his gospel was that the reader might believe in Jesus. The foundation for that goal is laid in John 1-3, where we see the belief of an individual, the disciples, and the crowds—leading to the call for the world to believe in John 3:16. To believe in Jesus is to receive life in His name, and that is John’s mission for his gospel record—for people to believe in Jesus.
