Series Cross Stations

In the early church, pilgrims in Jerusalem retraced Jesus’ final steps to the place where He was crucified, stopping at various “stations of the cross” to remember His actions for them. Some of the stops were rooted in actual scriptural events while others were based in tradition around Christianity. In our series, “Cross Stations,” we’re considering specific scriptures that can help us experience what Jesus experienced as we join the journey of our Savior to save us. Week one of our series takes us from the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed alone, was betrayed, arrested, tried, denied, condemned and mocked to the moment when Jesus was forced to carry his cross, with the help of Simon of Cyrene. And then in week two, we’ll walk with Jesus as he speaks to women along the way, speaks with criminals and cares for his mother from the cross and finally dies and is laid in the tomb.
