Discover the Word originated in 1980 as Radio Bible Class Daily. On Fridays, a panel of staff members, and the occasional outside guest would come together to discuss important topics centered on the Bible. These “Friday panel discussions” grew in popularity, and by 1991, hosts, Haddon Robinson, Alice Mathews, and Mart DeHaan developed the program into a series of 15-minute, weekday conversations that invited listeners to join a team of hosts — and maybe a guest or two — in breaking down passages of scripture to discover fresh perspective and practical application. In 2021, Discover the Word continued to innovate by offering a weekly podcast version of the show on popular streaming platforms. Listeners can tune in and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, and several other popular listening platforms.
