Trace Jesus’ final steps toward the crucifixion and remember what He did for you. From where He prayed alone, was betrayed, tried, mocked, and carried His cross—experience our Savior’s journey to save us.
Since Jesus’ resurrection, many Christians have visited Jerusalem to retrace the Savior’s final steps to the cross. In this Discover the Word conversation, Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day begin to lead us on a metaphorical pilgrimage through Scripture . . . so that we too can experience Jesus’ journey to Calvary in a two-week study called, “Cross Stations.”
Few things are more painful than being betrayed by a friend and so imagine how Jesus must have felt when Judas turned Him over to the authorities. In this edition of Discover the Word, Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day admire the way Jesus handled His arrest . . . despite the pain of betrayal.
The phrase Via Dolorosa means “the way of suffering.” And when you retrace Jesus’ steps to the cross, it becomes clear this path was aptly named. Currently on Discover the Word, Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day are considering what Jesus must have suffered on the way to Calvary. Continue the journey down the Via Dolorosa in the Bible study called, “Cross Stations.”
The suffering that Jesus endured on the cross is unimaginable. But His path leading up to the crucifixion at Calvary wasn’t any less painful. Join the Discover the Word group of Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day as they discuss what Jesus suffered as He made His way to the cross. It’s another sobering conversation to prepare our hearts for Easter.
Jesus was forced to carry His own cross to his execution at Calvary. But in truth, that piece of wood symbolized so much more. Be part of the Discover the Word group as Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, Bill Crowder, and Daniel Ryan Day consider the full weight of what Jesus was carrying. It truly was “the way of suffering—the Via Dolorosa.” Be part of the team as they continue their study titled, “Cross Stations.”

Early Christian pilgrims once walked the path Jesus took to the cross, stopping at “stations” to remember His suffering and love. In “Cross Stations,” we slow down with Scripture and reflect on those moments together. In part one, follow Jesus from Gethsemane through His trial to the moment He carried His cross—and take time to consider how His sacrifice speaks into your own faith and life today.
