About This Episode

Receive

God performed many miracles in Elisha’s life to reveal Himself and draw His people back to Him. Elisha purified the dirty waters in Jericho, pointing to the truth that God is offering us “living” water. Elisha called a curse upon some unruly young men, showing that faith in God is a matter of life and death. Elisha performed a miracle for a widow, providing for her family using only a meager supply of olive oil, reminding us that Jesus multiplies His provision in our lives. And Elisha demonstrated to three kings that they could depend on God—and so can we.

Reflect

  • Read the verses connected with this episode below. As you reflect on this Scripture, what stands out to you?
  • What miracle did Elisha perform in Jericho; how does water echo throughout the Bible and in your life?
  • What is God revealing to us in Elisha’s incident with the bears (from 2 Kings 2:23-25)?
  • How did God use Elisha to reveal His provision to the three kings who set out to attack Moab; how can this help you trust in God’s provision too?
  • How does Elisha’s miracle with the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7 compare to Elijah’s miracle with the widow (in 1 Kings 17:7-16); what does this reveal about how God will provide in your life?

Respond

(Use this prayer to start a conversation with God)

“Jesus, help me to trust in Your provision; help me remember that You can use small, everyday things to do big, miraculous things in my life. Help me to maintain my dependence on You and not turn away from You. Amen.”
